I-580 HOV lane near approval
Board expected to endorse project Thursday to ease eastbound traffic.
For commuters who sit at a snail’s pace along Interstate 580 during peak traffic hours, some relief may be coming by way of a new eastbound high-occupancy vehicle lane. The lane would be constructed on the median side from Hacienda Drive in Pleasanton to east of the Greenville Road exit in Livermore and is aimed at reducing congestion and encouraging carpooling and express bus service use.
